TOURNAMENT GENERAL INFORMATION

The CBII Cup is sanctioned as an unrestricted tournament by US Club Soccer.

 

Each team is guaranteed three games, unless inclement weather requires the tournament to be changed or altered. Teams will be placed in competitive brackets according to their past record and level of competition. The tournament committee reserves the right to combine age groups if appropriate. Exhibition games in the supergroup bracket U-18 and U19 will be played on 1 August. Other age bracket games  will be played on Saturday, August 2^nd and Sunday, August 3^rd, 2008. Awards will be made to first and second place teams in each division.

 

GAME CARDS
The tournament is a game card tournament. Each team is responsible for assuring that the game card is properly filled out and returned to the field marshal attending to their game at the conclusion of each game.

 

PATCH EXCHANGE
At the conclusion of each match, players and coaches are encouraged to exchange souvenir patches and/or pins. Coaches or team managers should bring enough patches or pins so each player, coach, and assistant coach can exchange patches or pins after each game.

TEAM APPLICATIONS
A completed application, entry fee ($475 for U-11 and U12 and $525 for U-13 through U-19) payable to Calvert Soccer Association and a team roster must be received on or before July 16, 2008. If you are a brand new team and new to travel soccer, you do not need to submit a roster. Letters of acceptance and non-acceptance will be mailed by July 20, 2008. Acceptance letters will also include additional registration information. Please see the web site for information on which roster will be used for the tournament. Any team withdrawing from the tournament after acceptance forfeits the entry fee. Refunds are not given for games canceled due to inclement weather.

 

TEAM ROSTERS
A team roster from the most recent soccer season must be included with your team’s application. An official, state-approved or US Club Roster for the Fall 2008 soccer season must be presented at tournament check-in on Friday, August 1^st, 2008. Three copies of your team’s official, state-approved, Fall 2008 roster must be presented at tournament check-in with any guest players’ names filled in. DO NOT mark guest player names on or alter your original copy of the team’s official, state-approved roster document!! Since the tournament is a pre-season tournament, state registrars work with each accredited club to make sure each registering team’s Fall 2008 roster is submitted and approved in time for the tournament.

 

REGISTRATION
Team registration will be held at the Tournament Headquarters from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, August 1^st. At registration, teams must provide their original, state-approved, Fall 2008 roster and three copies (all guest players must be entered on the copies of the roster that will be submitted to the tournament), 2008-2009 player passes for all players, medical release forms for each player, and a state approved Permission to Travel form if traveling outside your state.

 

ELIGIBILITY
This tournament is sanctioned by US Club Soccer. All teams must be affiliated with and in good standing with either US Club Soccer or the USYSA and their state association. This tournament is for club teams with up to 6 guest players (all guest players must be entered on the three copies of the roster you will be submitting to the tournament), league select teams, state select teams, and tournament teams. 

 

RULES
All games are played in accordance with FIFA laws, except as modified by the tournament rules. A copy of the tournament rules is posted on the tournament web site.

 

REFEREES
Certified referees will be used in all matches in accordance with FIFA international laws.
